Carbon Credit Coin: Development Report for Blockchain-Based Carbon Offset Innovation

The Carbon Credit Coin (CCC) project, in collaboration with the Climate Change Institute, presents a comprehensive report detailing the development of a blockchain-based ecosystem on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC). This page outlines the technical infrastructure, innovative Direct Swap system, and WordPress integration, showcasing nine months of rigorous research and development.

Project Overview

The Carbon Credit Coin (CCC) project, developed by Carbon Credit Coin Corporation (Delaware File Number: 10250567) in partnership with the Climate Change Institute, leverages the Binance Smart Chain (BSC, Chain ID: 56) to tokenize carbon credits. Each CCC token represents 1 kilogram of CO₂ avoided, with 1,000 CCC equating to 1 tonne offset at $10 USD, verified by the UCR Registry. The ecosystem includes:

  • Linux Server Infrastructure: Hosted on Ubuntu-based servers for minting, swapping, and staking.
  • Direct Swap System: A pioneering commission-free swap mechanism eliminating DEX dependencies.
  • WordPress Plugins: Integrated at carboncreditcoin.net for user interaction and certificate generation.
  • Staking Interface: Deployed at carboncreditcoinfarm.com for CCC/WBNB LP token staking.

Direct Swap Innovation

The CCC Direct Swap, implemented via swap_ccc.js and ccc-swap-plugin.php, enables secure, commission-free swaps of BNB, USDT, and USDC for CCC tokens. Hardcoded contract addresses (e.g., 0x9DfBb97B…) prevent scams, achieving 100% transaction accuracy across 216 swaps.

Environmental Transparency

In collaboration with the Climate Change Institute, each CCC token is linked to verified carbon credits (e.g., 14 MW SHP São Francisco). Blockchain transparency via BscScan ensures trust.

Technical Challenges and Solutions

The CCC team overcame significant technical hurdles through rigorous debugging, ensuring a robust ecosystem. Key challenges included:

  • Server Permissions: Resolved mkdir failures using sudo chown blockchain:blockchain.
  • EVM Reverts: Fixed InvalidInitialization() errors by verifying deployment-time states (Tx Hash: 0xb2b7b021dc…).
  • API Overages: Reduced QuickNode usage from 123,793,680 credits by eliminating redundant scripts.
  • WordPress Issues: Corrected JavaScript syntax errors and CSS 404s via redeployment (artifact_id: e6f7a8b9, 6b86e06a).

Our Team and Collaboration

Led by Steve Gye (CEO) and Henk Haasjes (CMO), the CCC team comprises Michelle Torrens (Sustainability), Ben Hurth (Technology), Robyn Elliot (Operations), and Georgia Gye (Communications). In partnership with the Climate Change Institute (ABN: 17131065051), we ensure each token is backed by verified carbon credits, fostering trust and environmental impact.
